Director, Professional Development

Thiago’s career in education began as a middle school teacher, having taught ELA, social studies, and science in San Francisco and the greater Boston area. Most recently, he worked on Teach for America’s program staff where he coached teachers and developed professional development trainings on instructional strategies, curriculum, and DEI. Throughout his experiences, he’s learned the importance of people-first mindsets and believes that the opportunity gap will only be addressed when all stakeholders (students, families, and educators) feel valued. Thiago holds a B.A. from Tufts University and a M.Ed. from Boston University. His favorite books to read as a child were Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, which taught him to have a sense of humor about life even when faced with insurmountable challenges.
