Paul’s motivation to work in education was realized while traveling. He was reminded how important education is, especially when the environment is lacking resources to support, or encourage, students to succeed. While active in the military, and thereafter, Paul has traveled to several places, including; San Antonio, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Dubai. Paul joined Springboard Collaborative because we are targeting communities that are under-resourced and he is determined to be the adult he needed as a child and ensure these students are given a chance to succeed. One of Paul’s favorite childhood stories is A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein because it was the first book he got from a school book fair and each poem had a visual which resonate with him to this day.
