Niloy has devoted his career to combat the inequities in public education. Prior to joining Springboard, he served as the Executive Director of Special Populations at the Texas Education Agency, where he led the state’s programming for English learners, highly mobile & at-risk, and gifted & talented students. Before that, he was the Co-founder and Executive Director of Success Preparatory Academy, a K-8th grade charter school in New Orleans for ten years. Previously, he served as the founding Principal of Cleveland Lighthouse Community School and as the Director of Special Projects at Excellence Charter School of the Uncommon Schools network in Brooklyn. He began his career teaching 4th grade in San Jose as a 2002 Teach For America corps member. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His favorite childhood book is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls.
