Mary is a lifelong educator whose career is inspired by a deep commitment to social justice. Before joining Springboard full time, Mary had the privilege of being a teacher and literacy coach in Bronx public schools for twelve years, where she worked hard to link quality teaching to her students, their families, and the surrounding community. Mary is a graduate of the Leadership for Educational Change program at Bank Street College. She holds an MS in Childhood Education from CUNY, Lehman College and a BA in Urban Studies and Political Science from Barnard College. One of her favorite childhood books is Where the Wild Things Are, a story whose lulling words and magical illustrations send imaginations soaring.
