Kendall LaParo believes that family and community knowledge enhance student learning. Kendall began her career as an elementary school teacher in Camden, New Jersey. While teaching, she learned the value of partnering with families to reinforce classroom habits and to connect reading, writing, and math to the “real world.” She now uses her experience as an educator to inform her data science work. Before joining Springboard Collaborative, Kendall taught Statistics at Temple University and worked as a Research Assistant at the School District of Philadelphia. Kendall holds an MS in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Sociology from Temple University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Sociology with a focus on education and multivariate statistics.
