Design Strategist

Katheryn Heinz has spent the past fifteen years using human-centered design, lean methodology, and community organizing for social impact. She loves discovering surprising opportunities by challenging assumptions, anticipating trends, and bridging divergent ideas. Katheryn co-founded a social impact innovation hub in downtown Atlanta and designed a social innovation accelerator, coaching more than 35 founders through their innovation processes. In her role as Senior Experience Designer at Springboard Collaborative, she also gets to incorporate her professional experience in public health research, curriculum design, and community organizing.

With a degree in film production from USC, she strongly believes in the world-changing, people-shaping power of stories and the importance of intentional design in every detail. With a degree in practical theology, she is committed to equitable systems and structures that respect and utilize the contributions of everyone. As a parent, she knows first hand the necessity for learning solutions to be designed for real life experiences and challenges. She also knows the joy of seeing her kids discover a love of reading. One of her favorite books growing up was The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
