Chief of Staff
Charles was born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and has been living in Philadelphia since April 2021. He earned a B.A. in Sociology from Hampton University and both an M.A. in Human Services Counseling and Graduate Certificate in Christian Leadership from Liberty University. Currently, he is working towards a Ph.D. in Public Administration. Charles has served from multiple vantage points within the out-of-school time field and now leads our Project Management Office and helps us stay on track towards our Strategic and Operational Plan. When he is not focused on his life’s work of serving under-resourced and under-served youth and families (particularly from BIPOC communities), he enjoys creative writing, traveling, listening to music, karaoke, engaging in volunteer opportunities, fruit snacks, and creating memories with family and friends. Charles does not have a favorite childhood book and did not fall in love with reading until he was introduced to literature, by African American authors, during his time at Hampton University (HBCU).
