Andrew Karas is a career-long educator who is passionate about ensuring all students, families, and teachers have access to exceptional educational experiences. Through his work at the NYCDOE’s Office of Teacher Effectiveness and as a 6th grade teacher in the Bronx, he has come to know that high-quality resources and consistent support – two ingredients core to Springboard Collaborative’s model – are at the foundation of every school’s success. As Executive Director in the East Coast, Andrew partners with school and district leaders as well as local philanthropic supporters to bring Springboard’s impact model to life.

 

Andrew holds a BA from Northwestern University, an MSEd from Hunter College, and an MBA from New York University. His favorite book to read with his class was Esperanza Rising, a story about how a young girl’s love for her family allows her to find strength in herself.
