Senior Associate, Professional Development

Amira joined the Springboard team as a Professional Development Associate in December 2021. Prior to her work with Springboard, she served as a Founding Teacher and Teacher Leader at Mastery Charter Schools in Philadelphia. She has taught all grades K-3, but has a deep love for fostering math love in third grade scholars. Amira holds a B.A. in Political Science from Arcadia University, where she discovered her love for systemic equity and elementary education. From there, she pursued her M.A.T. in K-6 elementary education from Relay Graduate School in order to develop her skill set in best instructional practices to close the opportunity gap. After teaching in Delaware for three years, Amira moved back to Philadelphia where she grew up to help found Mastery Prep Elementary and attend University of Pennsylvania where she received her M.S.Ed. in Urban School Leadership. Amira’s favorite childhood book is “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister because it teaches the importance of collaboration, teamwork and staying in close community with one another.
