Program Director

Shantel is passionate and dedicated to all aspects of the education world. Shantel graduated from Neumann University with a B.A. in Early, Elementary & Special Education. Before joining Springboard, Shantel served as a literacy and social studies teacher for Mastery Charter schools. During this time, she was a part of SEED (Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity), led and directed after school programs, clubs and authored a 5th grade Social Studies curriculum. Her deep-rooted love for education led her to start a business called R.I.S.E. U.P. For Education which provides tutoring, mentorship, parent and student support groups and much more. Outside of being an educator, Shantel spends quality time with family and friends. She is devoted to her faith and loves to travel the world. Shantel’s favorite childhood book is “Dancing in the Wings” by Debbie Allen. This book captures her experiences due to her love of dancing. Shantel’s family has instilled great values of respect, love, and community which she likes to share with others and still demonstrates today.
