Springboard Collaborative offerings look a little different this school year. Based on feedback from educators and families, we’ve expanded on our K-5 Family Workshop experiences to give families more opportunities to participate, practice, and apply what they’re learning.
This fall, we’re also introducing new Math programs, available as standalone offerings or paired with Literacy, while continuing to offer our Family Learning Series and Future Forward, our evidence-based, in-school tutoring program. Here’s what’s new, and a few recent offerings you may have missed.
Enhanced Family Workshop experience
Family Workshops are an important component of Springboard’s afterschool, summer, and in-school programs, so these updates benefit families across our academic offerings.
We’re excited about the enhancements this year to our Family Workshops! These workshops help families spend more time learning by doing while giving educators even stronger tools to engage and support them.
- Family-friendly academic language. We’ve updated how literacy skills are introduced so families learn the academic language of reading through family-friendly explanations, videos, and examples, making it easier to understand how reading develops and confidently support learning at home.
- A connected learning journey. Families move through a themed, four-session workshop series that build knowledge and confidence over time. A new Launch Series helps schools welcome families, while the flexible learning sequence supports families no matter when they join, encouraging consistent participation throughout a program.
- More active participation. Families told us they wanted more opportunities to practice, not just listen. Workshops now begin with handson activities, include multiple opportunities to practice new strategies, and end with concrete plans families can use at home. literacy skills are introduced so families learn the academic language of reading through family-friendly explanations, videos, and examples, making it easier to understand how reading develops and confidently support learning at home.
- New resources for families and educators. Every workshop includes redesigned slide decks, take-home tip sheets, and a new Facilitation Guide that helps educators deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
- Available in four languages. All family-facing materials come in Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, and Chinese, with additional languages available on request.
Introducing Math for After-School and Summer
This fall, we are extending our family-educator partnership model to support building strong math foundations. Districts that know Springboard for literacy can now extend the same structure to math, either as a standalone program or paired with literacy. Available for grades K-3, both options include academic instruction, Family Workshops, professional learning, and student assessments.
- Math Program. A standalone foundational math program for after-school and summer.
- Literacy + Math. An integrated model that combines foundational literacy and math with Family Workshops, family-facing technology, and student assessments.
