Academic Year 2023-2024
After-School Program
Impact Report
When educators and families
collaborate the results are
extraordinary for kids.

Challenge

  • Only 16% of Black and 20% of Hispanic 4th graders are proficient readers.
  • Teachers are exhausted from working alone to improve reading outcomes.
  • Districts seek to increase instructional time, but often lack capacity to plan and implement supplemental reading programs at scale.

Solution

  • Increase instructional time by upskilling families to nurture home reading habits.
  • Decrease teacher isolation and burnout by engaging families as partners in teaching and learning.
  • Create more equitable outcomes for kids at scale by running Springboard Collaborative’s playbook for reading acceleration.

Springboard Collaborative’s Family-Education Learning Accelerator program closes the reading gap for students in PreK/TK – 3rd grade on average 47%. They can increase their reading growth by 5 months over the course of a 7-10 week program.

During the Academic Year 2023-2024 Springboard Collaborative served 28,042 students across 282 Title I schools.
