Springboard Collaborative has fully integrated Future Forward Literacy, completing an acquisition that unites two organizations sharing a fundamental belief: Every child deserves to be a successful and confident reader, and families are essential partners in making that happen. Both organizations bring proven, evidence-based approaches to accelerating literacy learning and deliver measurable results. Together, the combined programs at Springboard now offer districts a complete literacy solution spanning in-school tutoring, after-school programming, and summer learning.

Shared Mission: Literacy Excellence Through Family Engagement

Both organizations center literacy success on educator-family partnerships that bridge home and school. This approach drives every program Springboard now offers.

“This acquisition represents a natural evolution of our shared commitment to literacy and families,” said Springboard CEO and founder Alejandro Gibes de Gac. “By combining our organizations’ strengths, we can now support even more students from classroom to community, ensuring consistent, high-quality literacy instruction across all learning environments.”

Proven Research and Impact

The integration brings together two organizations with proven, research-backed results. Future Forward Literacy’s programs meet the U.S. Department of Education’s “strong evidence” standard under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and are recognized by the What Works Clearinghouse for effectiveness in improving student outcomes. This rigorous evaluation demonstrates that students are six times more likely to reach grade-level reading benchmarks and have 5.9 fewer absences per year. Springboard’s proven model improves reading outcomes in just five to 10 weeks of programming leveraging a unique FELA (Family-Educator Learning Accelerator) methodology.

“Effective literacy support extends far beyond reading skills,” said Future Forward Executive Director Kate Bauer-Jones. “When we combine our proven solutions across both organizations, we’re able to magnify our impact not only on reading, but on attendance and overall academic success.”

Serving More Students in More Ways

The integrated organization now operates under the name Springboard Collaborative and offers complete literacy support spanning in-school tutoring, after-school programming, and summer learning — all with family engagement woven throughout. Schools like Fresno Unified School District are already benefiting from the combined offerings, which launched programs in October 2025.

“To improve literacy rates, we need new ways to support even more students who need it most,” said Dr. Shelly Shires, chief product and service officer at Springboard Collaborative. “We are thrilled to add the Future Forward solutions and experienced team to support more of our partners’ in-school tutoring needs while continuing to deliver the family engagement programming that makes lasting impact possible.”
