Lucy Clark

She/Her/Hers

Program Director

As a kindergarten and first grade teacher, Lucy’s favorite part of every day was reading to and with her students. She shared her students’ interest, curiosity, and delight, even when reading a story for the 100th time. Lucy has seen first hand how literacy-rich environments along with multiple opportunities to practice new skills in meaningful ways lead to motivation to succeed. Her proudest moments as an educator have been sharing these moments of success with her students and their families. Lucy earned her B.A. in Environmental Education, Ecology and Ethics from UC Berkeley. She also holds a teaching credential and master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of the Pacific, in partnership with the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute. One of Lucy’s favorite childhood books is The Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss because from the very first time her mom read it to her as a child, she emphasized that a story is more than just about the words on the page, it is about the meaning behind them.
